On Friday the 7th of July, the New Zealand Business Roundtable in China (NZBRiC)'s executive director Anna-May Isbey was invited to attend the ALMAC Satellite Conference- A New Chapter of Hong Kong-Shanghai Collaboration in Lingang, organised by the CPIT Shanghai, Hong Kong Development Council and Shanghai Lingang Group.
The morning began with keynote speeches by Zhou Hanmin, Member of the Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Vice Chairman of 13th Shanghai CPPCC, Chandler So, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Freight Forwarding and Logistics and Stephen Hu, Senior Director China Engineering at Wish. The speakers addressed the development of the marine economy, green shipping, the digitalization of the shipping industry and the Yangshan Special Economic Bonded Zone.
In the afternoon, the foreign guests toured Lingang Special Area, visiting the Shanghai Maritime Museum and Yangshan Special Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
Lingang Special Area is in a strategic position with Pudong Airport to its north and Yangshan International Port to its south, being close to air routes, highways, subway, ports and shipping. It consists of 11 functional zones including an integrated industrial area, emerging industrial area, advanced intelligent manufacturing area, and a green village area, to name a few.
